D5 Imperial Dwarf Command

The command groups for the Imperial Dwarfs were first seen in White Dwarf 92 (August 1987.) In the main, there are four basic sculpts of each type, but only 3 variants were initially released. There are fourth variants known of each type. A King (Hammer 2) that joined the range in the 1991 catalogue, an uncatalogued version of the Champion (with Unicorn Helm), of the Drummer (with Eyepatch) and an unreleased Standard variant (with Spear.)

The initial release also featured one Champion (Bolsch Orc Cleaver) sculpted unlike the others, that became a normal Imperial trooper in 1991 (with Sword 9).

Finally, the early versions of the drummers show rope lashings on the drum,which were removed, presumably because of a casting issue. In the 1991 catalogue they are shown with them.

In the 1991 catalogue only 3 of each pose were used, and the command groups were joined by those from the Bugman's Dwarf Rangers and Prince Ulther's Imperial Dwarfs Regiments of Renown.
