The first 12 C06 Imperial Dwarfs were released in August 1986, and another 12 as D5 Imperial Dwarfs in October 1986. The Spring 1987 Journal shows 17, 9 from October 1986 plus a further 8 new appearances.
The command groups were released in August 1987. The 1998 catalogue shows 37 Imperial Dwarfs. 6 new Crossbow Dwarfs with plastic crossbows were released in February 1989, although 5 made it to the 1991 Catalogue which shows 87 Imperial Dwarfs!
